Show Dates: August 18th, 19th 25th & 26th, 2023
Since the 2019 movie re-make of Little Women, ANTIC has been planning to produce a unique version of this classic by Lousia May Alcott. But of course, the pandemic cancelled that plan also.
Finally we are able to bring an expansive and beautiful retelling of Little Women for Summer 2023! This play covers several years and many characters, and uses a narrator in Josephine (Jo) March to give background information to tie the scenes together. The four March daughters, (Meg, Jo, Beth & Amy), Marmee, (their Mother), Hannah (their housekeeper), Aunt March, Theodore Laurence (Laurie), Mr. March, Mr. Laurence and John Brooke are all featured in this two-act classic tale.
Past:
Cinderella: A Dream Come True, (Take 2!)
Show Dates: May 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th, 2023
This ANTIC Family Gala play was originally scheduled for March 2020, but because of the pandemic, we had to close the show on its' final dress rehearsal. So we unofficially call this a 'Take 2'.
This is a classic re-telling of the rags-to-riches fairytale of a young girl forced to live with her cruel stepmother and her equally cruel stepsisters. Cinderella’s kind and gentle nature, despite her surroundings, makes her a favorite with the three feisty mice who have also taken up residence in the house. Their motto? “Get ‘em and bite ‘em and beat ‘em up!”
Meanwhile, in another part of the kingdom, a somewhat childlike King and his Queen are zealous in their pursuit of grandchildren. A ball, a ball is thing wherein they’ll capture a daughter-in-law and make a grandfather of the King! Rest assured, they will get no help from their son, who is more interested in traveling than finding a wife, but there’s nothing to fear with Jacques on their side. Jacques, a “master storyteller, juggler and jester extraordinaire,” narrates the tale from the very beginning, all the while confounding the King’s right-hand man and beleaguered servant, Bernard. Throw in a forgetful Fairy Godmother, a tired dog, and the audience’s participation, and higglety-pigglety-hobblety-hoy, get ready for an evening of classic fairytale fun!
ANTIC’s Family Gala is always fun for the entire family to enjoy! What makes it so special is that audiences will get to see Families acting on stage together. For over 30 years, ANTIC's Family Gala makes a fun evening out with the whole family!
COMING SOON:
ANTIC is celebrating our 40th anniversary this year! Of course, there will be a party involved! We are currently looking at a date in November. More details later!
